Part Used:

Buds of Leaves (but not of flowers)

NOTE: These indications are only for use with embryonic plant stem cell tissues. Adult plants do not have the same constituents, actions or applications in most cases.

The Populus nigra is a fast-growing deciduous tree that is easily propagated and can thrive in almost any soil. It grows up to 98 feet tall, often growing close to water. The Populus nigra has a wide, rounded crown and dark grey, fissured bark with many swellings on its large trunk. Its pale yellow twigs are sticky towards the tips with a strong turpentine smell. The deep green, triangular-shaped leaves of this tree are 2 to 4 inches wide and turn yellow in autumn.

The tree’s soft wood is resistant to abrasion and is easily worked; however, its low flammability renders it unsuitable for firewood.

Hyperaccumulater tree detoxifies the ecosystem grounds we pollute. Will chelate all toxic metals out of the body due to its content of thephytochelatin enzyme synthase and galangin.

Bach flower applications: Useful for those with fears of unknown origin or for apprehension and a feeling of uneasiness without definite reason. The positive quality of the remedy is a release of the fear so that the sufferer is able to turn and face it and know that it has no basis. These applications also apply to Plant Stem Cell Therapy.

Plant Stem Cell Therapy Indications:

A chelator of toxic metals!

Hematology Oncology:

'P' Anticoagulant. Hemochromatosis. "Galangin" appears to inhibit cancer, especially in persons who are chemotherapy resistance and who are HER negative. Galangin is a potent inhibitor of the aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AhR), an environmental carcinogen-responsive transcription factor implicated in mammary tumor initiation and growth control. Because some current breast cancer therapeutics are ineffective in estrogen receptor (ER) negative tumors and since the AhR may be involved in breast cancer proliferation, the effects of galangin on the proliferation of an ER-, AhRhigh line, Hs578T, were studied. Galangin an aromatase inhibitor specifically prevents the conversion of testosterone to estrogen in both men and women. This aspect of galangin’s action provides yet another mechanism for preventing cancer (especially of the breast and prostate) and heart disease. To know more see phytochemistry section. Apigenin inhibit the growth of human cervical carcinoma cells (HeLa) and through apoptotic pathway.

Apigenin induce apoptosis also antitumor lung and skin. Cytochrome-P450-1A1-Inhibitor, Cytotoxic, iNOS-Inhibitor, Interleukin-6-Inhibitor, NF-kB-Inhibitor; NO-Synthase-Inhibitor, Polyamine-Synthesis-Inhibitor, Protein-Kinase-C-Inhibitor, TNF-alpha-Inhibitor; Topoisomerase-I-Inhibitor; Topoisomerase-II-Inhibitor.

Cardio Vascular System:

'P' Arterial antisclerotic, arterial anti-spasmodic especially the legs and tonic. Detoxifies the arteries, arteritis, and thrombolytic arteritis. Improves circulation. Obliterative arterial disease of the lower limbs associated with trophic disturbances, Increases Oscillations in the arteries. Facilitates Collateral Circulation. Arteritis of Lower Limbs legs.

Intermittent Claudication of Cigarette Smokers. Limping, limited walking with cramps in the calves, cold extremities especially feet. Dissolving Blood clots (provided that not too big) obstructing the artery and reducing blood circulation (as confirmed by Doppler). Dogwood for mid top vascular problems and Black poplar mid down lower extremities remedy. External Hemorrhoids. Galangin also exerts a strong inhibitory effect on the cyclo-oxygenase family of enzymes, this provides a strong cardioprotective effect by inhibiting the aggregation of platelets, as well as providing a consistent systemic anti-inflammatory effect. Galangin has a proven anti-oxidative effect on endothelial tissues and acts to help preserve other protective antioxidants such as vitamin E, vitamin C and other flavonoids, in this function it also serves to prevent lipid peroxidation. Chrysin (5,7-Dihydroxyflavone) is found in many plants. Chrysin possesses potent anti-inflammation and anti-oxidation properties. Chrysin is able to stimulate nitric oxide release from endothelial cells leading to vascular cGMP accumulation and subsequent endothelium dependent vascular relaxation. Chrysin stimulated nitric oxide release is calcium independent and possibly mediated via PI3-kinase.

Infectious Diseases:

'P' Trichomonas infection and Entamoeba histolytica parasitic infections. 2', 6'-dihydroxy-4'-meth-oxychalcone (chalcones): Chalcones, metronidazole and acetylsalicylic acid were subjected to the cytotoxicity abilities on bovine fixed RBC to investigate any correlation between their cytotoxic abilities through haemagglutination titre assay and anti-trichomonal activities. This study use this method to explain the safety and efficacy of synthesized chalcones against trichomonal infection and Entamoeba histolytica.

Immunology:

'P' Regulator for autoimmune T-cells. Luteolin and apigenin inhibit in vitro antigen-specific proliferation and interferon-gamma production by murine and human autoimmune T cells.

Dermatology:

'P' Antibacterial similar to Bactroban 2% and Antifungal Anti-inflammatory. Trophic Cutaneous problems Anthrax. Topical uses: Sunburn, Cuts, Bruises, Acne, Frostbite, Sores. Wounds cicatrizing.

Environmental Medicine:

'P' Removes, 1, 4-dioxane, a suspected carcinogen, is widely used as a solvent in paints, varnishes, lacquers, cosmetics, and deodorants. Heavy Metals, Nitrates, Chlorinated Solvent, Petroleum and its Hydrocarbons. References: E.W. Aitchison, J.L. Schnoor, S.L. Kelley, and P.J.J. Alvarez, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, 125 Engineering Research Facility, 330 South Madison Street, The University of Iowa, Iowa City, IA 52242. Galangin is a potent inhibitor of environmental chemical toxicity mediated by carcinogenic polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons through its ability to block AhR activation. Results from in vitro and in vivo studies indicate that galangin with anti-oxidative and free radical scavenging activities is capable of modulating enzyme activities and suppressing the genotoxicity of chemicals.

Renal – Uro Genital System:

'A' Gout. Diuretic and Cicatrizing of the Bladder. Interstitial Cystitis, Repeated Cystitis Antibacterial E-colibacillinum. Since the salicin and populin are excreted as aspirin-like compounds they are also considered useful for reducing bladder and urethral irritability. Where antibiotics have failed in UTI. Apigenin can even block the formation of uric acid. Populin (glucoside): Antipodagric (good against gout) A glycoside, C20H22O8 related to salicin, found in certain species of the poplar (Populus), and extracted as a sweet white crystalline substance.

Musculoskeletal System:

'A' inflammation in joints and membranes.pain due to its Apigenin, Chalcones, Galangin, Salicortin and Salicin content.

ENT & Pulmonary System:

'A' Pharyngitis Tracheitis, Hay Fever, Laryngitis, Bronchitis, Cough, Cigarettes Smokers abuse. Gargling relieve Laryngitis.Cineole, which has positive effects on several bodily complaints. Because Cineole can help break up chest congestion, it is an obvious choice when battling bronchitis, laryngitis, and colds.

Psychiatry & Nervous System:

'A' MAO-Inhibitor, regulates sympathetic nervous system. Antidepressant-like effects of apigenin. These behavioral and biochemical results indicate the antidepressant properties of apigenin, which may be mediated by the dopaminergic mechanisms in the brain.

Neurology:

'A' Headaches, Neuralgia.

External Uses:

Preparations also soothe and heal other skin conditions and injuries (sores, bruises, cuts, acne pimples, rosacea). Gargling with preparations from poplar bud has been shown to relieve laryngitis. Great topical for Rosacea.
